Slack and Discord

A Slack or Discord connector posts project notifications directly into a specified channel.

Connectors are configured per project. Project Owners and Admins can connect and manage destinations from the project’s Connectors page (/[projectId]/connectors). Project Members can view active connectors and their delivery histories.

  1. Open your project’s Connectors page.
  2. Select Connect next to Slack or Discord.
  3. You will be directed to Slack or Discord’s authorization screen. Choose the destination workspace and target channel.
  4. Once authorized, you are redirected back to the Connectors page, and the channel appears active.

Authorization handshakes must be completed within 10 minutes.

Telmoni requests the minimal permissions required to post inbound messages:

  • Slack: incoming-webhook
  • Discord: webhook.incoming

These permissions restrict Telmoni to posting messages into the exact channel selected. Telmoni cannot view chat messages, inspect other channels, or enumerate workspace members. All access credentials and webhook targets are stored encrypted at rest.

Notices are sent immediately upon creation. If a delivery attempt fails due to a transient network error or provider rate limit:

  • Telmoni retries delivery up to 5 times using exponential backoff with jitter, up to a maximum delay of 24 hours.
  • If the provider responds with a Retry-After header, Telmoni respects the requested delay.

If a destination endpoint is permanently removed (e.g., the channel is deleted, the incoming webhook is removed, or the Telmoni application is uninstalled from the workspace), Telmoni marks the connector as disconnected and dispatches a connector_disconnected event to the workspace feed.

Removing the Telmoni application from a Slack workspace disconnects all channels connected to that Slack workspace. The event is recorded in the project’s audit log with Slack listed as the actor.

To remove a connection, select Disconnect on the connector’s row on the Connectors page. Telmoni invalidates the local grant, informs the upstream vendor, and logs the action in the audit log.
