Organizations and projects
Telmoni uses a two-tier tenancy model: Organizations and Projects. There are no teams.
An Organization is the top-level tenant. It holds projects, organization-level members, organization settings, and a rolled-up audit log.
A Project lives inside an organization. It holds API tokens, notification connectors (Slack, Discord, webhooks), in-app notifications, and project-specific audit records.
A solo developer and an enterprise work the same way: an organization with one member and a project, or one with many members across multiple projects.
Your organizations and projects
Section titled “Your organizations and projects”When you first sign up while sign-ups are open, Telmoni provisions:
- An Organization, with you as its Owner. Until named, the console identifies it by your email address.
- A Default Project inside that organization, ready for your API tokens and connectors.
You can belong to multiple organizations at once: ones you own and ones you have been invited to. Your role in one organization does not dictate your role in another.
Roles at a glance
Section titled “Roles at a glance”Both organizations and projects use three roles: Owner, Admin, and Member. See Roles and permissions for the full permissions matrix.
- Organization Owner: Full access across all projects, project creation and deletion, member management, organization settings, and organization transfer/deletion.
- Organization Admin: Can create projects, manage members, organization settings, and audit logs. Operates as an admin across all projects. Cannot delete projects, delete the organization, or transfer ownership.
- Organization Member: Access is restricted to the specific projects they are seated in. No organization-wide management powers.
Moving between them
Section titled “Moving between them”- Project pages live under the project’s ID in the URL, such as
/[projectId]/api-keysor/[projectId]/connectors. - Organization pages live under
/organization, including/organization/projects,/organization/members,/organization/audit-log, and/organization/settings. - Account pages live under
/account, including/account/settings,/account/notifications, and/account/privacy. - Switch between projects and organizations using the workspace switcher in the console header and sidebar. The switcher displays your active organization, the projects within it, and allows quick switching between workspaces.
Projects
Section titled “Projects”Creating a project
Section titled “Creating a project”An organization Owner or Admin can create a new project from the
Projects page (/organization/projects) or directly from the project
switcher:
- Select Create project.
- Provide a project name (up to 80 characters).
- The project is created immediately with its own isolated API keys and connectors.
Renaming a project
Section titled “Renaming a project”An Admin or Owner can rename a project from the project’s Settings page
(/[projectId]/settings).
Deleting a project
Section titled “Deleting a project”Only the Owner can delete a project. Deletion is initiated from the
Danger zone on the project’s Settings page (/[projectId]/settings):
- Deleting a project permanently deletes its API tokens and connectors.
- Historical audit events for that project remain preserved in the organization’s append-only audit chain.
Transferring a project
Section titled “Transferring a project”An organization Owner can transfer a project to an Admin:
- The Owner initiates a transfer to an organization Admin from the project’s settings.
- The Admin receives a transfer offer, which stands for 7 days
(
OFFER_TTL_DAYS). - The Admin accepts the transfer into an organization they own.
- On acceptance:
- The project row moves into the new organization.
- Its API keys follow into the new organization.
- Project members stay seated on the project and are enrolled into the new organization.
- The former owner remains seated as a project Admin.
- Connectors are purged: because connectors store webhook secrets and third-party grants, they do not follow across tenant boundaries.
Organizations
Section titled “Organizations”Renaming an organization
Section titled “Renaming an organization”An Owner or Admin can rename an organization from Organization Settings
(/organization/settings).
Transferring organization ownership
Section titled “Transferring organization ownership”An organization has exactly one Owner. The Owner can transfer ownership to any organization Admin:
- The Owner initiates an ownership transfer from the organization’s Members page or Settings page.
- The offer stands for 7 days. The Owner may withdraw the offer at any time before it is accepted.
- The designated Admin can accept or decline the offer.
- Upon acceptance:
- The accepting Admin becomes the new Owner.
- The former owner becomes an Admin in the organization.
- All projects, API keys, connectors, and audit histories stay intact.
Deleting an organization
Section titled “Deleting an organization”Only the Owner can delete an organization. Deletion is performed from the
Danger zone in Organization Settings (/organization/settings):
- Request a 6-digit confirmation code, which is emailed to the Owner’s address and remains valid for 15 minutes.
- Enter the confirmation code.
- Access ends immediately: the organization enters
pending_deletion, all API keys stop authenticating, and member access ceases. - 14-day restore window: For 14 days (
RESTORE_WINDOW_SECONDS), the Owner can restore the organization from their account’s Privacy page (/account/privacy). - After 14 days, the automated deletion sweep permanently purges the organization, its projects, API keys, and resources.
Leaving an organization or project
Section titled “Leaving an organization or project”- Leaving a project: Members and Admins can leave a project from the project’s members view.
- Leaving an organization: Members and Admins can leave an organization from their account or organization settings.
- The Owner cannot leave an active organization. To leave, the Owner must either transfer ownership to an Admin or delete the organization.
